This proves that the movies that make most money are not always the best! Tongue
Someone seen Madagascar yet?

I've seen Madagascar and I liked it. It wasn't the best, but it was entertaining. After you watch it, you will be singing "I like to move it, move it" on the way home! Very Happy

Ok thanks for the tip! Cool

Hmmm maybe we should make a list of the movies you've seen and graded as worth seeing. I'll better collect them from this subject.
Maybe a new part of your website!? Razz

I liked “Hide and Seek.” It’s a good horror movie with good actors. I love horror movies.

“In My Country” was good too. It’s based on a true story about South African apartheid and two journalists reporting on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission hearings in post-apartheid South Africa. I thought it was interesting. You might like it.

It was weird that he was so skinny, but also impressive that he could lose that much weight just for a movie role. i like strange movies as long as they're good big grin

I watched Coach Carter tonight, which was OK. I just give it 2 and a half stars as im not really a basketball fan, and there really wasnt that much of a story. Samual L Jackson was a great actor as ever

A couple of nights a go i watched a movie called this girls life. It was about a girl in the adult industry, i thought it was pretty good and gave it 3 stars

I also watched around the bend last night, but fell asleep during it. Ill have to watch it again Confused

All my star ratings are out of 5 Wink

Not really. We sometimes meet with a group of friends to watch a movie.
I had brought 4 dvd's
- Paris, Texas
- Dead Poets Society
- The Grudge
- Un long Dimanche de fianÇailles (from the same makers as Amily)

but non did get picked although I would rather have watched one of these again. Confused Oh well as you see the girls had most power. Tongue

Yeah I love the slide playing of Ry Cooder!
The movie has a strange atmsphere to it. I would not directly say heavy going, but more like melancholic. Not a hollywood type production I would say. It's quite an old movie (1984) so it might be hard to find.

i like Ry Cooder's music in the movie Crossroads. he's good

I thought the cutting heads duel with Steve Vai was really cool. Cool
I think it ends in one of the Paganini Caprices. The last lick where Steve loses is a diminished scale. Razz
This wasn't on the soundtrack though. Confused
Now where's my mojo? Tongue

i think i read somewhere that Steve Vai wrote all of the fast guitar soloing at the end of the guitar dual that Ralph Macchio's character plays. That's a great scene. i've watched it many times. I even have a copy of the movie on dvd Cool

Hey!
I once figured out some parts. The part Ry Cooder plays are on a Telecaster tuned in open D (D A D F# D A), Steve dropped the tuning of his guitar a whole step to D to match this tuning.
The first parts of the duel are mainly Mississippi Delta blues style.
At the end of the duel Eugene goes into a triller and when he has everybody's attention he plays an arpeggio through the chords Am - E7 - A7 - Dm - G#dim7 - Am and then the classical guitar part you hear him play earlier in the movie. This is actually composed by a guy called William Kanengiser. He also arranged the other classical guitar parts in the movie. Cool

Hmmm don't know that movie.

I watched the movie 'Mystic River'. can't really decide if it was good or bad. So I'd say 2 1/2 stars. It's a murder mistery. Neutral
