Hey.....don't give up. Perhaps you're trying too hard...women could detect that sort of thing.

Remember, even though men ask the women out, it's always the women who actually picks the guys they want to go out with.

Don't act like a prince charming...act more like hmmm....a person who is rebellious, don't give a shit, don't show any desperation, don't show any nervousness, don't even sweat, be charming yet have an attitude of someone like Collin Farrel (an actor who really don't give a shit about anything).

I don't know why...but many women falls for guys who have those bad boy attitude. But you also have to balance it with being sensitive to their needs. You also have to be a very very good listener....don't talk too much...that will show desperation...let the women talk and just listen...really really listen.

Next time you're at a club, at a party, or some work office function, just stay cool, have a drink in your hand, dress nicely, wear "not too strong cologn", smile, laugh, don't be obnoxious, and let look around in the room to see if any of the women in the room makes any type of eye contact with you. Also, body language is very important...if a woman looks at you and makes eye contacts and she gently rubs her hands through her hair or gently rubs her fingers on her body, that's the one you want to go and say "hello...how are you doing?" "Can I buy you a drink?", etc. etc. Go slow, gentle, and don't be too pushy. If she saids no...this is very important, make sure she sees that you really don't care that she said no. That will make her think.

Women...you can't live with them...and you really can't live without them!

Your effort is much appreciated, sfthong. You are quite the cool hombre. We should probably stop hijacking this topic though.

You're absolutely right. After all this is her forum...but it seems this forum has a life of it's own. Yes...this forum began life with Martina...but seems like it just takes off all over the place.

Movies....I just saw a movie called Sideways. I didn't know what is was about but it was pretty good. About a guy who has been divorced going through some depression, his best friend is about to get married...both go
off for a week of partying (wine tasting)...finds out his ex wife is re-married...his best friend cheats on his fiance...then the main character finally finds someone special at the end...hopeful ending.

I would highly recommend this movie.

Hey Wildcard, I want to send you something...something that used to be Martina's and now they are mine. Seems like you need them more than I do and seems like you are her biggest fan. Have Martina e-mail me your mailing address and I'll mail something for you.

Hey...don't be so harsh on yourself...be confident...women love confident men. It's not about the way you look, what you do for a living, how much you make (well for some women it is)...it's all about the ATTITUDE! Women love men who are confident about themselves....trust me on this.

Martina...isn't that right? Women love men who are confident about themselves?

Thats very true Sfthong. Its all about confidence!

That's what I used to think too, and played Prince Charming (well, I didn't have any white horse, haha) but got zip, zero, zilch, notta, and nowhere with women. I guess it's like the French say, c'est la vie. I've given up trying to ask women out, so that pretty much puts the lid on that. Thanks anyway though.

Comeone Wildcard, youve just gotta try harder and dont give up! Feeling sorry for yourself will do no good Rolling Eyes

It's not about that. The outcome is always the same without fail, I get turned down, so I have no more desire to want to try. It's kind of like poking yourself with a needle. You know it's always going to hurt each and every time, so why do it over and over? I may be lonely, but I'm not self-masochistic.

Yeah I love the slide playing of Ry Cooder!
The movie has a strange atmsphere to it. I would not directly say heavy going, but more like melancholic. Not a hollywood type production I would say. It's quite an old movie (1984) so it might be hard to find.

Yeah you're right about the atmosphere. That's what I remember about it the most. Just not an "up" story IMHO. One of those films where you've gotta be in the right mood to watch it.

OK so here are my top 10 fave films of all time:
- Blade Runner
- The Wicker Man
- Agguire Wrath of God
- Apocalypse Now
- Dark Star
- Nadja
- The FIRST Star Wars trilogy
- Once Upon a time in America
- True Romance
- Goodfellas

Also anything by the Governator is pretty cool Cool

Hey guys, I heard on the Space Channel yesterday that there's going to be a Terminator 4 movie. They said that Arnie most likely won't be in it though, so I don't know what's the point in doing this movie. Also, they said that part 4 won't follow the tradition of picking up the story where the previous movie left off. Not sure how appealing that makes it right at this time.

I agree, Martina. Seems like they're making a fourth installment just to make another movie they can slap the Terminator name on. I don't think there is a real necessity for continuing on with it. I predict that it will steal a page from George Lucas's book and go back to a time before the events of the trilogy took place. Time will tell if I'm correct on the matter.

I fear that you are most likely right about that, marcus. I was not impressed at all with Star Wars - Episode One: The Phantom Menance, and didn't even bother with Episode Two. I guess I'll probably go see the third though, just to find out exactly what leads to Dark Vader coming about.

Yeah Episode 1 put me off too. They should have just left it alone.

Now I'm also curious about Darth Vader. I'll have to buy the box set when it comes out ...

No. Star Trek and Star Wars are two different sci-fi generas, and 'Trekie' is now passé and has been replaced with 'Treker.'
